Tastee Freez Restaurant Franchise
Tastee Freez was started by Leo Maranz and Harry Axene in 1950. They formed a partnership and started to market a new soft serve type of dessert in a fast service type of environment. Moranz actually invented the soft-serve pump and freezer to allow for the Tastee Freez stands to begin to open. Now there are a few less than 100 free standing stores and they are located in 22 of the United States. The original stores only served frozen dairy products, but some of the newer locations have a much larger fast food menu. The company is owned by Galardi Group Franchise & Leasing and they have incorporated the concept in with Wienerschnitzel hot dog restaurants. They have over 350 locations that they have put the Tastee Freez concept into.
