Roly Poly started in Buckhead in 1996.  This is a section of Atlanta, Georgia and the founders Linda Wolf and Julie Reid started rolling sandwiches for themselves when they opened their business.  They began their sandwich rolling career in New Canaan, Connecticut back in 1986 and in Key West, Florida in 1996 before they decided to open the first Roly Poly in Buckhead.  Currently there are over 125 Roly Poly shops in 24 different states and they have begun to franchise the concept as well.

Roly Poly offers sandwiches with the freshest of ingredients like fresh basil chicken, cashews, green leaf lettuce, plum tomatoes, avocado, alfalfa sprouts, and even spicy Thai sauce.  They roll their sandwiches into tortillas and they have 50 choices for the customer to choose from.  Linda and Julie developed the sandwich recipes themselves and they include many fresh herbs along with only top quality ingredients.  There are 12 selections specifically for vegetarians and many other choices that include lean meats and melted cheeses.  They offer the option to eat in the store, take the food with you, or have it delivered.

They have begun to franchise the Roly Poly concept and they are looking for individuals with between $75,000 and $125,000 in liquid capital to invest into a location.  They do not require restaurant experience and they are willing to teach any interested franchisees the skills necessary to operate a Roly Poly location.  The upfront franchise fee is $25,000 and it can cost up to $120,000 to get the building and the equipment that is necessary to open the locations.  The royalty fee ranges from 4% to 5% of the monthly sales depending on the location and how long it has been in business.  They require a 12 day formal training in the store along with 6 days of pre-training at the Roly Poly University as well.
