Jersey Mike’s Subs Restaurant Franchise
Jersey Mike’s Subs was originally started in 1956 as Mike’s Subs. It was a small shop in a sea-side town in New Jersey. In 1972 Peter Cancro was in High School and he took a job at Mike’s subs. He was only 14 years old and he absolutely loved working at Mike’s. When Peter was 17 he overheard the owner of Mike’s talking about selling the shop. He asked his football coach, who was also a banker for some help and he came through. At the age of 17, Peter Cancro bought Mike’s subs. He was not even legally able to slice a sub yet, but he owned the restaurant. Shortly after he opened a couple more local outlets of the company and he taught his crew how to properly interact with the customers.
The company was franchised in 1987 for the first time and this is when the name was changed to Jersey Mike’s Subs. The main reason he franchised the restaurant was to take care of the customers that did not live in the Jersey area and were just there for the summer. Peter remains the CEO of Jersey Mike’s Subs today and there are more than 500 locations.
Jersey Mike’s Subs is known for their subs and the fresh, high quality ingredients they use in every single shop. They offer hot and cold subs along with wraps and salads as well. They now allow you to get your sub topped however you want with a variety of vegetables and condiments to choose from.
