Huddle House was founded by John Sparks in 1964.  He wanted this to be a place that folks could “huddle up” and enjoy great food after the Friday night football games.  His core values were to provide great service with quality cooked-to-order food.  Sparks passed away in 1978 and left the restaurant chain to his wife Pauline.  Huddle House was sold to a private firm in 1994 and much has changed since the first Huddle House opened.  Huddle House is a 24-hour restaurant that currently has 430 locations in 17 states, primarily through the Southern part of the United States.

Huddle House features many breakfast platters including eggs, steak, country fried steak, omelets, smothered biscuits and gravy, and more.  They also serve lunch with many big house sandwich combos, chop house burgers, and a variety of other sandwiches.  You can also get dinner with Huddle House and they serve steaks, chicken, pork chops, and shrimp.  Huddle House also offers a variety of appetizers, desserts, sides, and beverages.  They offer their entire menu for both dine in and carry out at any time of the day.

Huddle House is looking to expand into many areas and they are looking for franchisees with a total net worth of $600,000 or more and liquid assets of at least $300,000.  They offer a discount off the franchise fee of $25,000 if you qualify for the development incentive program or if you are an armed forces veteran.  They do require that all franchisees have previous restaurant experience that is equal to or greater than the amount of units they would like to open.  Franchisees will pay a 4.75% royalty fee along with 1.5% of their gross sales for advertising as well.  The franchise agreement is 15 years initially and can be extended in 5 year increments from there on out.
