Chili’s Grill & Bar opened the first location out of a converted postal station in Dallas, Texas. They opened the door for business in 1975 and the restaurant was founded by Larry Lavine. This was meant to be an informal, full-service dining restaurant with a menu full of meals for affordable prices. This brand has proven to be very successful and by the early 1980s there were 28 locations with the same Southwestern decor. The company was sold in 1983 to Brinker and now they have locations in all of the 50 states along with 30 international locations as well.
